Great Overlooked American photographer

The first ever Leopold Hugo solo show was a great success. Although I can't honestly say a ton of people came, those who did come loved what they saw.

I took a few photos before the show officially opened, and here they are.

I loved seeing my collection all hung in one place.

The people at Heath Ceramics were so col and helpful

I'm happy to talk about hanging the show elsewhere. If you know of a great small museum, I'd love to do it again.

Wow I took the bull by the horns and wrote a book about Leopold Hugo. There is some biographical information, but mostly I've reproduced my collection in book form. There are more than twenty images in large format, and I think it came out great. And it's only $19.99. which is a great value too.

I couldn't resist, and used his wonderful signature for the cover. It wraps around the back of the cover.

Buy the book

Last week I purchased a beautiful book Pictorialism in California photography 1900-1940. It's a must have for anyone interested in this type of photography. There are two Hugo's reproduced in this book, plus many other photographs.
