I can't remember when I first saw a photo by Leopold Hugo. It was likely online, but I was instantly captivated, and wanted to see more. I was amazed, and dissapointed, to find so little information. There was some images for sale at varous galleries, but there was very little biographical information, and what there was was pretty sketchy.
There's never been a solo show of his work, nor has there been any published book of his. His work has appeared in one book that I know of, but that was only two images.
I'm not a photographer,nor a professional researcher, but a passionate collector, and so I began collecting his work. It's been ten years now, and I am very proud of my collection.
This website is a work in progress to be sure. I'll put up more images when I can, but I also want to learn more about him, so I welcome emails with comments, suggestions, and more information.
